Meet the New Martha Stewart!

I am so proud of myself that I finished this baby quilt for my little cousin Kianna! It is called a rag quilt and I designed it (only because I couldn't find a pattern online that I liked).

I will be making more infant quilts in the future! If you have a young child, this is probably what you will get from me for X-Mas!!!!

If you want to make this quilt at home:

  1. Choose 3 different fabric patterns ( cotton or fleece because the material needs to "rag")

  2. Fabric A = 1 yard Fabric B= 1 yard Fabric C = 1 yard and 1/8th

  3. Cut Fabric A into 4 9-inch Strips

  4. Cut Fabric B into 6 6-inch Strips

  5. Cut Fabric C into 10 4-inch Strips

Order of the strips/rows: B-C-A-C-B-C-A-C-B-C (or you can decide what you like best)

  1. Take 2 strips of Fabric B, with the right sides facing out. Take 2 strips of fabric C with the right sides facing out.

  2. Pin and Sew Fabric B to Fabric C with a 1-inch or 1/2-inch seam allowance (the bigger the more rag)

  3. Complete Step 2 until you are finished with your quilt strips

  4. Remember 1 side of the quilt will have the seams showing this is the rag side.

  5. When you are finished with the quilt sew 1-inch seam all the way around your quilt.

  6. Clip every seam on your quilt

  7. Wash in cold water and tumble dry low.

Finished size is around 39'' x 42''

Good Luck!!!!
